My reply to Jack Rinella article
i think this article does show that there IS more to life than JUST BDSM. Whether W/we like it or not there is going to be some aspects of vanilla in O/our lives. Whether it's spending time with the kids at the library, walking the dog (yeah, i know, no dogs allowed), hanging out at the beach, etc. there is almost always going to be places/times where W/we will have to act as vanilla as possible.
There is a time & place for everything, not necessarily at the same time, lol.
Fetish events are not a place for kids just as the library isn't the place to go walking/crawling around nude with collar & leash in place *sigh*.
W/we need these vanilla activities in order to recharge O/our life batteries. W/we can't stay awake 24 hours & W/we can't live M/s 24/7 either--there's going to always be something in the way of it--can't stay awake because the body wasn't made that way, it was made to recharge on a nightly basis--can't live M/s 24/7 because W/we need to recharge O/our selves, both individually & as a couple, on a regular basis as well.
i love being M/s, but i also love simple walks in the park, time spent with the kids, watching a sunrise or set, watching the stars, all the things a good portion of humanity enjoys at some point in time or another in their lives.
There are other things, just as important, just not as enjoyable, which must intrude. Paying bills, keeping the apartment clean, discipline of (yeah, i know, unheard of concept) the kids, etc.
Every thing has a slot in my life, some more, some less, but it's all there--Sir & the kids are in the top 3 spots of the enjoyable stuff.
